Establishing personal networks in a worldwide network – part I

Remember the time when the www was just a bunch of static and boring sites? When world wide web was understood as world wide waiting?
I remeber pretty well and believe me, I don’t miss those times!

Nowadays almost everything has changed! Personal contacts & networks are no longer established by personally meeting each other in real life…

In 2006 several pretty interesting platforms got on the net and even those who started some years before changed their layout and GUI

Most of those platforms tried to make use of the upcoming Web 2.0. Some stuck with trying, and got lost in the incredible features Web 2.0 provides to a new generation of webdesigners.
For sure it is pretty impressing when you can use drag & drop functionality all of a sudden on a website! But besides being impressive some applications and platforms lost their focus: usability!

I really do not want to run down on any platforms in this blog, basically just want to share ideas on how to prevent getting lost in new technologies…
