Know where I am coming from…

It is me, Christopher T. Kuhn…

To be honest I have not started my IT career having in mind becoming ever successful with OpenSource at all.

Nowadays I am the Vice President of OTRS Inc the inventor and sourcecode-owner of OTRS the world-leading service management solution.
If you never came across OTRS you should definitely give it a try, this experience will change your life!

I was born in 1977 in Dettelbach, a small village right next to Kitzingen where I spent my youth.
The decision pro IT was already made when I first got in touch with my cousins C64 playing Choplifter.

After finishing my school education I was working for the US Army, where I was working in a team responsible for the base network, mostly Microsoft NT and a few Sun machines.

Due to the fact that this was not the most exciting job in my life I switched to a local company as software engineer and consultant where I worked out some interesting projects:

    CMS-based website of the county Kitzingen. We completely developed the CMS as well as different conncectors and interfaces to important applications of the county administration.
  • Bonus-system of the VR-Bank
    This system calculates based on monthly incomes, credits, debits, etc. a certain bonus rate which the account holder will get in shares every quarter.

One day the HR representative of the OTRS GmbH got in touch with me and that ’s how I became the first consultant of the most dynamic company I ever worked for.
